Agronomic is the adjective form of the word agronomy, which, relative to our business, means a branch of agriculture dealing with soil management – we are concerned with the turf and what lies beneath. The word agronomic also expresses a strong appreciation for farming and agriculture, which has been the backbone of our family for generations. About the Owner John W. Dunham, Jr. holds an AAS in turf grass management from North Carolina State University. A native North Carolinian, John is originally from White Oak, a small farming community in Bladen County. It was there that he learned from his father, Bill Dunham, a very strong work ethic, an appreciation for the land and soil, and the science of growing crops. In 1984, John’s family moved to New Bern, where his father became the NCSU Cooperative Extension Service Director for Craven County.
