What does doodling while on the phone mean?

I’m a psychology major. Doodling while on the phone might mean wanting the conversation to be over immediately. it could also mean boredom. Standing on the phone with nothing else to do might also mean an awkward moment so they tend to doodle. Multi-tasking can also be an explanation. Though it isn’t really a task, we don’t want to be merely talking on the phone, with nothing else to do.
