What does holding a local voting event actually involve?
We are encouraging schools, universities, workplaces, churches and communities to hold local events in their area, where young people can come along and vote. This can be as simple as a morning tea or BBQ where students can come along, listen to a talk on climate change, and cast their ballot. It could happen during lunchtime, recess, assembly or a free period. The idea is that we will have hundreds of these small events across the country during the week of Youth Decide. This will enable us to show the nation that young people are taking action on their future by participating in this vote.
