The labels on the response scale are designed as a guide to mark points along continuums that range from the lowest to the highest levels of satisfaction/agreement. “Neutral 50/50” and “Neither agree nor disagree” can be interpreted as the mid-points on that continuum. These categories can also be used when you have no strong opinion one way or the other.
