What does OSHA say about heat in the workplace?
OSHA has very stringent heat guidelines. These guidelines require employers to address heat conditions of 86 degrees or higher by providing workers with cooling or documenting rest breaks of 45 minutes per hour. OSHA knows that more people in the US die from heat than from earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes and lightning combined .and they take that very seriously. Most employers are in violation of the OSHA standards on a regular basis and have no way to mount a defense if something happens to an employee .Employers and Owners are very vulnerable form a liability standpoint.
