What does RFC mean?
RFC means Residual Functional Capacity. It is a form used by the Disability Determination Section of SSA to rate an individual’s functional capacity after taking into consideration the claimant’s mental or physical impairment. RFC forms must be completed before a case can be finalized and closed. Unfortunately for the claimant, RFC forms completed by the DDS are rarely useful to the case.
