What does the theory of evolution predict?
The Theory of Evolution does not “predict” anything. A common fault in understanding evolution is to think that it is going “somewhere” – people with bigger brains, better health, less hair etc. This is not the case, evolution is a reaction to environmental stresses. It basically states that in any given population there are individuals that can deal with any stress (hot, cold, need for protective color, etc.) better than others. If this ability makes them healthier and better able to compete for food or mates, they will pass their characteristics on to their offspring and this advantage will eventually be in all their descendants who will make up the whole population.
