What feral animals will licence holders be hunting?
A recent survey highlighted the cost impact of feral animals in Australia at $720 million a year. Under the Act, Restricted Game Hunting Licence holders may hunt the introduced species of feral goats, pigs, foxes, rabbits, hares, wild dogs (not dingo) and deer on declared public land as well as certain species of introduced game birds. Many of these species have a significant negative impact on native plants and animals. Game Council will also be encouraging hunters to note any abnormalities in game or feral animal species, to assist in research and disease detection.
