What flying courses are available?

0

There are two primary flying courses available. The first is basic soaring. This offers cadets an opportunity to fly up to 14 sorties in a glider and potentially have a solo flight. The second is the Powered Flight Program (PFP). This program is designed to give cadets exposure to an operational environment, also with an opportunity to solo. Neither of these programs is limited based on pilot qualification. Qualified cadets who wish to attend pilot training after graduation are required to complete the Introductory Flight Screening (IFS) Program upon graduating from USAFA but prior to attending Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT). The class is offered in Pueblo, Colorado. Cadets may also enroll in additional courses in aeronautical and astronautical avionics, astronomy, special topics in aviation and Air Force operations. In addition to these flying courses, cadets may participate in parachuting. This course is the only one of its kind where a cadets first jump is solo freefall. Success
