Children and families from throughout Northern California come to Packard Children’s Hospital. In many cases, Packard is the only medical center in the region to provide highly specialized care such as the treatment of cancer and heart defects, organ transplantation, neurosurgery, and neonatal intensive care. The Children’s Hospital, in conjunction with Stanford Hospital & Clinics, also offers one of only two pediatric emergency departments in the Bay Area, combining Packard’s trademark kid-friendly atmosphere with a team of pediatric emergency medicine specialists equipped to handle any medical problem.
