What happened to the 12 apostles of Christ after his death?
This summary excludes Judas Iscariot, obviously: Well, immediately afterwards they were despondant – the same old apostles you see throughout the gospels, short of faith. Of course, we would likely be the same had our master just been crucified. However, after the resurrected Jesus appeared to them, they rejoiced! Soon, they received the Holy Spirit and began spreading the gospel throughout Israel and then throughout the entire known world, going into Europe, Africa and Asia. Eventually, most of the disciples were martyred (John was an exception, I believe…I don’t know what happened to him after his exile, but I don’t think he was killed).
