In a re-organization of departments at Queens College, the old departments of Home Economics and Health & Physical Education were merged to become the Department of Family, Nutrition, and Exercise Sciences (FNES). While maintaining the programs of the previous departments, the merger has provided unique opportunities to develop programs in the interrelated disciplines of nutrition and exercise sciences. In short, this has created research and programmatic opportunities that were not feasible prior to the merger.
