What happens at marine basic training?
Marine Corps Basic training challenges young recruits mentally and physically. According to the U.S. Marine Corps, basic training is one of the toughest experiences of a young man or woman’s life.Where Recruits TrainMarine recruits train at one of two locations, Paris Island, South Carolina or San Diego, California. The San Diego facility is for men only. Paris Island offers recruit training for men and women.Weeks One through FourDuring the first month, recruits arrive at base, get their gear and take a battery of physical tests. They learn weapons handling and go through the 11-obstacle Confidence Course.
