What happens at the initial non-emergency visit?
First, your records are assembled and entered into the computer. Next, appropriate radiographs (X-rays) are recorded digitally into your record. Basic consumer dental information is then reviewed with the patient by the staff depending on your level of interest and need. Finally the doctor reviews the records then conducts a series of exam protocols to establish a data base for treatment decisions. These may include medical history, dental history, head and neck cancer screening, muscle and joint palpations, periodontal charting, occlusal analysis, smile analysis, and dental structural analysis. Intra oral photography is then used to discuss conditions viewed on the monitor with the patient. The patient determines what areas are of immediate interest and then coordinates with the doctor what treatment options seem best. A friendly interaction of information and feedback allow the patient to determine the level of aggressiveness with which they desire to be treated. Finally, comfortable
