When a filing is made for which a regular court fee is required (e.g., initiating papers, motion), the filer must submit credit or debit card information to cover the payment or other form of payment authorized by the NYSCEF Rules and the system. For example, the NYSCEF system does not currently allow for payment by electronic funds transfer, but it may well do so in the future. (Simultaneous payment or submission of payment information is not required when the filer uses the NYSCEF system’s “payment in person” option, discussed elsewhere in these FAQ’s.)
