What happens if a Muslim woman does not wear a headscarf?
The scarf is only one part of the modest dress for a Muslim woman. If she covers her head properly with some other material, that will serve the purpose. But if she chooses to uncover her head, that will displease God. By wearing a head-cover, Muslim women are less liable to molestation by men. Their clothing sends out a clear message that they want to be good, respectable and to serve God.
