What happens if a student takes ISTAR but does not meet the criteria to participate in ISTAR as a student with a significant cognitive disability?
• The ISTART7 decision will integrate and lock the ISTAR purpose once all of the components of the software have been delivered. If the CCC does not find that the student is eligible to participate in the alternate assessment based on either of the two achievement standard criteria, but the CCC determines that ISTAR will be a more appropriate experience for the student, the student will only be permitted to participate in ISTAR for supplemental purposes.
