What happens if I do not install the outside and inside antenna (HD22470) 40 or more apart?

The outside and inside antenna must be installed 40′ or more apart and separated by an exterior wall. A minimum 40′ separation between the antennas plus an exterior wall is approx. 50dB attenuation. A typical framed wall with foil face insulation or a concrete wall should provide the proper attenuation. If you do not have the proper attenuation, more distance is required between the antennas. A fiberglass wall, i.e. boat deck, does not equal a home or office wall. Therefore, the separation between antennas must be greater. If they are not properly separated, the DA4000SBR amplifier will be damaged and voids the warranty.
