WHAT HAPPENS IN THE COMMUNION SERVICE?

0

In the communion service we spend a short time listening to God’s word and singing of Him and to Him, to bring us in to the right attitude to take bread and wine. The focus of the service is the communion itself. We follow Jesus command to remember his sacrifice by eating bread, symbolising his body which was broken for us on the cross, and drinking wine, symbolising his blood which was shed to cover over our sins before God. By God’s grace and our faith we take part in his death and so are included in his resurrection and eternal life. • NOTES: Because of the nature and purpose of communion we ask that only baptised believers take communion with us. Others are more than welcome to stay and see what goes on. Visitors are asked to see a duty deacon to indicate their wish to take communion.
