What happens near the end of pregnancy,?

Later in the pregnancy the more frequent your appointments become, they do the usual things like blood pressure, fundus height, check babys position etc. There are no tests at the end of the pregnancy unless there is something wrong. Sometimes doctors will start giving you vaginal exams to see how effeced and dilated you are. You have the right to say no to these vaginal exams as they do not indicate much at all, they are pretty much for the doctors curiosity and maybe you;re if you are wanting to know but even if you are dilated a few centimeter’s it doesn’t mean you will go into labor soon, you could be at a few centimeters for weeks and go overdue OR you could be closed up with a hard cervix yet go into labour within a matter of hours. So it doesn’t give a good indication of anything really and you have every right to decline as sometimes they are a bit uncomfortable-depends how relaxed your bottom muscles are and how gentle your doctor/midwife is.
