The employee is separated from his or her original position and notified to report to the Personnel Department for a counseling interview with the Placement Officer ( Reg. 32.0611 ). In the interview the employee is encouraged to express freely pertinent information concerning his or her general background, vocational and employment interests and preferences and disability reactions. The City will provide skill and vocational assessments based upon the employee’s aptitudes, disability, education, interests and work history to aid in the selection of an appropriate secondary position ( Reg. 32.0612 ). At the conclusion of the counseling session the employee elects whether or not to participate in the secondary placement program.
