What Happens When Salt Dissolves in Water?
The salt dissolves in the water. The salt molecules or particles get into the spaces between the water particles or molecules. We can therefore dissolve only a limited amount of salt in water. When all the spaces between the molecules are filled , therefore disallowing any more salt to dissolve, the salt-water solution is called a saturated solution.
