What have been Aracruzs contributions to establishing silvicultural guidelines in Brazil?
Aracruz contributed to the consolidation of the Brazilian Forestry Certification System (CERFLOR), which became operational in 2003. Furthermore, it supports the efforts for the development of a Mutual International Recognition Mechanism that is open to all credible forest certification systems. Aracruz’s forestry management techniques and its groundbreaking work in the development of clonal plantations on a commercial scale earned the Company the Marcus Wallenberg Prize from Sweden in 1984, the most important distinction from the world forestry science community.
