There were many layers to the design and balancing in the game, which was the thing of greatest difficulty. Not only did we have to get all the units balanced, but we also had to balance them with respect to the terrain and its effects on combat. Then we had to balance them with respect to all the Techniques (upgrades) they can get. THEN we had to balance all of the BattleGear that each unit can get on top of all that (some of which are very different and thus give the units very different abilities). Then once we got done with all that, we had to do it all over again for the Zen Masters. Q: What aspects of the game are you most satisfied with and why? A: The whole thing. This is the best game I’ve worked on hands down. The visuals are better, the code is better, and the design is better. Across the board, its everything we wanted it to be.
