What identification requirements are there for scent-trailing hounds used to hunt Sambar Deer?
All scent-trailing hounds are required to wear a collar with a metal tag on which the name and address or name, address and telephone number of the owner is recorded. Further, all scent-trailing hounds over the age of twelve months must be microchipped with either a Destron or Trovan compatible microchip as a form of permanent identification by 24 April 2004. Hounds under twelve months of age may be ear tattooed. If that young hound is considered to be suitable for hunting once it exceeds twelve months of age, it will also need to be microchipped.
