In the event that a Status Indian, Indian band or council of an Indian band purchaser does pay the Ontario component of the HST on the purchase or importation of a qualifying item (e.g., the vendor did not credit the Ontario component of the HST to the purchaser), the purchaser is entitled to apply to the Ontario Ministry of Revenue for a refund of the Ontario component of the HST paid.
