What if I start working at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) after receiving a UI Photo ID Card?
All UIHC employees are required to wear UIHC Badges while at work. If you begin employment after receiving a UI Photo ID Card and wish to keep the UI Card as your active card, you may request (in Hospital Human Resources at the time of issuance) that your UIHC Badge possess no charging privileges. The UIHC Badge will then serve only as a visual identification and you will be able to continue to use your UI Photo ID Card as the active privileged card. If you do NOT wish to keep the UI card as your active card, simply request charging privileges when you receive your UIHC Badge. Your UIHC Badge will automatically replace your UI Card as your active privileged card. YOU MAY NOT HAVE PRIVILEGES ON BOTH YOUR UIHC BADGE AND YOUR UI CARD.
