What incentives are available for solar hot water and distributed power generation?
Available solar hot water incentives include $125 through the LiveSmart BC Energy Incentive Program, $500 through the federal ecoENERGY Retrofit – Homes program, and $1,000 through the SolarBC program. Incentives for distributed power generation from photovoltaics range from $260 per 1 kilowatt, up to $1,300 for panels that have a capacity of 5 kilowatts. This incentive is from the LiveSmart BC Efficiency Incentive Program. Currently, there are no federal or SolarBC incentives for this measure. To be eligible for these incentives, your home must be in the BC Hydro service area as the incentive requires net metering which is not offered by Fortis.
