What information is gathered in the Survey?
The samples are analyzed for protein, oil and fiber content. This year, we will also be measuring amino acid content and fatty acid content of the oil. We also ask producers to tell us the variety of the sample, and whether the sample represents soybeans that are destined for Identity Preserved (IP) sales (e.g., for tofu or other soyfoods) or for bulk commodity sales. We summarize these results on a state-by-state basis.
