What is a 2-way speaker and what about separate woofers and tweeters?

A 2-way speaker has the tweeter mounted directly in front of the woofer. This is not as good as having a separate woofer and tweeter. The high frequencies that tweeters reproduce are, by nature, directional. That means that you want to try and get the tweeter pointing towards your ears. The Visteon VFR 130X and VFR 165X kits have separate tweeters that can be mounted high up on the instrument panel or fixed to the A-pillars. A 2-way speaker is convenient in that you don’t have to worry about installing separate tweeters. The sound in the car won’t be quite as good though. However, our 2-way speakers (apart from the VFR 100) have angle adjustable tweeters which allow you to pivot the tweeters towards your ears – a good compromise.
