What is a Beta version?

True Launch Bar has an official release version and a beta version. The official release version is stable and fully supported by Tordex. If your work depends on a consistent and reliable Windows environment choose the official release version. The Beta version is a test version that has newer features but is open to changes and probably has several unreported problems. It is by definition unstable and not suitable for the general user. If you want to test the newer features of True Launch Bar then choose the Beta version but you must expect problems and possible system errors.

A product’s beta is an officially released version of a product which includes most of the product’s functionality. The beta version is intended for external testing of the product in order to identify configurations that cause problems, as well as collect requirements and suggestions from users. Before its official release, a beta version ALWAYS undergoes a full cycle of internal testing, after which the application is sufficiently stable in the majority of computing environments. A release notes file is supplied with each beta version. Release notes provide the following information: • the exact version number, • system and technical requirements for the equipment used for testing, • the list of changes since the previous version, and, • descriptions of known problems (if any) and other relevant information. Please note that a beta version is NOT the final version of the product and therefore the developer does not guarantee an absence of errors that may disrupt the computer’s operat

When a new product is created or upgraded, there are several stages in development before the product can be sold in the commercial marketplace. The first stage is the alpha stage, in which the product is tested by software testers within the company and debugged as necessary. A beta version is the name for the second stage of software testing, in which it is released for free or a reduced price to a group of users. The beta version of a software release is considered to be a preview. It has all the standard features, but is not yet ready for wide release or sale. During this point, the company will collect feedback from users about the product’s usability — what they like and what should be changed — before the product’s wide release. A beta version of a program can be either a closed beta, which is limited to a specific group of users, or an open beta, which is available for the general public to use. Though beta version products will often have all the features available in the fina

Beta refers to something that’s still in the testing stage. For instance—There used to be a “Yahoo Beta” mail—-which changed to “All New Mail” when it finished with the testing.

A “beta” is a pre-release version of a product that is available for beta testing before the final version of the product is released. Please, note that a beta version is NOT the final version of the product and we do not guarantee an absence of errors that may disrupt the computer’s operation system and/or result data loss. We recommend against use of any beta software in a critical, commercial or production environment. Implementation of beta software should be limited to experienced users only in a staging or test environment. What is required from a beta tester? • download and install the product for testing; • spend a certain amount of time testing the product; • report all problems you experienced with the product; • provide suggestions you have to improve the product being tested; • report on compatibility problems (related to your configuration).
