What is a Care Management Organization (CMO)?
A CMO coordinates health care benefits that are tailored to each individual’s needs, circumstances and preferences. CMOs are not restricted to providing only the specific services listed in the benefit package. The CMO care management team and the member may decide that other services, treatments or supports are more likely to help the member achieve their health outcomes. The CMO would then authorize those services in the member’s care plan.
