What is a Certificate of Origin and why is it required?
A Certificate of Origin is a document that declares the origin of a shipment of goods that are being exported. This document may be required to: • Meet Customs requirements in the importing state. • Meet “quota” requirements imposed by the importing country. • Comply with banking requirements such as in a Letter of Credit. • Comply with other official and commercial requirements. How do I obtain a Certificate of Origin? If you are a new customer, you need to register with us by completing some simple forms. • Click here to complete the Formal Undertaking, Signatory List and Arab Indemnity forms. Once completed please return the original to us. • Please read the Standard Rules. We will then provide you with blank Certificates and instructions to assist you in completing the forms.
