What is a conducting polymer and an intrinsically conducting polymer?
A conducting polymer is simply a polymer that can conduct electricity. This can be accomplished by the addition of conducting fillers such as amorphous carbon or metals. An intrinsically conducting polymer is an organic polymer which can conduct electrons due to the conjugation in the polymer backbone. All conducting polymers must have the right oxidation state and doping level to conduct at their highest level.
