Students in a degree program for Computer Science learn the skills and knowledge to write programs, design applications and create software using a wide variety of programming languages and related tools. Many institutions offer bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the field, and a number also offer doctoral degrees in preparation for work at universities or research institutes. Required Computer Science courses might include instruction in discrete structures, linear algebra and computational theory.
