What is a Forklift?
Four-Wheel forklifts have either an electric, propane, diesel or gasoline engine and come with pneumatic or cushion tires. Electric forklifts with cushion tires are usually used indoors and run on smooth surfaces. Also, they are perfect for areas with little ventilation because they do not release emissions. Internal combusion forklifts (diesel, propane and gasoline) generate more power than an electric and move quicker over long distances. Propane trucks can be used indoors where there is some ventilation. When equipped with pneumatic tires they have greater ground clearance and travel on a variety of surfaces. Capacities range from 3,000 lbs – 80,000 lbs.
