What is a FQHC?
A FQHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center. Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs, or simply health centers) are private, non-profit, or public organizations that receive federal grants from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) through Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act. The health centers mission is to improve the health status of underserved populations.
