What is a minor subdivision?
A minor subdivision is the creation of four or fewer parcels, with or without a remainder parcel. In determining how many parcels a subdivider may create through the minor subdivision process, in addition to the parcels being proposed, there shall be counted every contiguous parcel which was created by the same subdivider. How do I apply for a minor subdivision? Submit completed Minor Subdivision application forms to the Department of Planning and Building Services along with the appropriate filing fee (see the application form or a planner for appropriate number of copies and filing fee). Minor subdivision means any subdivision containing not more than nine (9) lots, and not requiring any new street or extension of the local government facilities, or the creation of any public improvements, except where otherwise specifically exempted from requirements of these land development regulations (LDR).
