A persistent message is an MQSeries message that remains in a queue after a queue manager has been shutdown and restarted. This allows messages to be saved regardless of other operating system problems or machine reboots. Persistent messages are used in the batch and deferred paradigms; however messages in the real-time paradigm are non-persistent.
