What is a Project Initiation Document (PID)?
The PID is for management projects the equivalent of a project document for development activities. As it is recommended to manage the RMG implementation through an internal project, it was felt that the PID could be useful for country offices in order to define this project and form the basis for its management. The PID sample available in the toolkit is using a standard PRINCE2 template. It covers the following fundamental questions about the project: 1) what is the project aiming to achieve, 2) why is it important to achieve it, 3) who is going to be involved and 4) how and when is it going to happen.
