What is a set of gyroplanes?
The Sport Pilot rules require that your logbook endorsement to fly an LSA is limited to a specific make/model. Because that would be very limited, especially in the case of custom built or modified gyroplanes, the rules allow that numbers of make/models can be grouped in Make / Model “SETS” of Light sport aircraft. If you have an endorsement for a particular set of gyroplanes, you can legally fly any other gyroplane in that set. However, the endorsing instructor may further limit your endorsement within that broad set of gyroplanes such as you may fly any gyro that is an open or semi-enclosed tandem or single-seat pusher, with normal nose wheel steering, has a prerotator, employs a drop keel for reduced propeller thrustline offset, and has an effective horizontal stabilizer.
