What is a specialty track and why do I need one?

A specialty track is an area that you have chosen to work on and learn more about as a CAP member. See the Professional Development page for links to PDF files for each specialty track. If you’d like a quick overview, the Professional Development page also contains links to Powerpoint files that list the performance requirements for each specialty track. Generally, you would choose a track that is related to your duty position, since this is a requirement. Enrollment in a specialty track is also required before you can attend the Squadron Leadership School, and a technician rating in a specialty track is required to attend the Corporate Learning Course. Every member in CAP should enroll in at least one specialty track. You may choose to work on as many tracks at the same time as you wish. As you gain experience in each track, you will move to Technician, then Senior, and finally a Master rating.
