What is a typical session like?

Ongoing counselling sessions are different from the initial consultation session. In the initial session, the counsellor focuses on assessing the problem that brings you to the CDC. This is to help us determine whether our services are best suited to your needs. When you come in for your first ongoing session, the counsellor may cover some of the information already given on the first visit. However, the aim of this session is to allow you to talk more about your presenting concern and hopefully to determine the goals you have in mind. The counsellor will help you think through what you want to do to address the concern, with a view to identifying goals for change. Subsequent sessions will be based on what you bring to therapy as related to the goals you have established for improvement. A typical session lasts approximately 50 minutes. There is usually a week or two between counselling sessions.

The first visit consists of taking a Urine pH test, Iridology photo and evaluation and a Detoxification/Cleansing Diet. The follow up visits evaluates the cleansing diet, putting the patient on a fast and/or corrective diet/health program. Suggest hair analysis, BTA test, blood work up and any other non-evasive ways to evaluate the patient better.

A typical session lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. We begin by just taking some test shots to warm up. If we are in a location where we can roam, we will usually do a few shots in a variety of spots in your location. Sessions are very laid back and we will do a lot of talking and getting to know each other. Instead of stiff poses, I let you get into a comfortable position and then I will gently direct you so you look your best. You will probably hear my taking a lot of shots, my goal is to get the most variety and the best expressions out of you. Usually the best expressions are the ones just after you think you are done with the shot. There will be time to change shirts or check your hair and make-up in between moving spots. We aren’t rushed. I want you to be as comfortable as possible.

First, a history is usually taken and the client’s condition is reviewed by the therapist. The client stays fully clothed and usually lies on a treatment table. The therapist then evaluates the client by placing her hands on various points on the body to locate the areas of restrictions. Once the specific areas are located the therapist will begin working on one of the places of greatest restriction. During the session, the therapist may work exclusively in this one area or move around the body as required to release and ease the competing tensions and restrictions within the body.
