what is AIG doing with the Tarp money they received?
We ALL know about the bonuses, which are obscene, but a relatively small portion of the Tarp. We also know about the spending sprees the executives had as soon as they got the money. Recently it has been discovered that AIG gave some money to other failed corporations such as Goldman Sachs. But could it be that AIG is using taxpayer money to subsidize themselves in an effort to offer insurance at lowered rates in order to underbid all other competitors? If so, this would create an unfair advantage for AIG. This could end up being much more money than the bonuses everyone is so upset about. It’s something to think about.
