What is an artificial life simulator?
An artificial life simulator is a computer model of a virtual world where creatures breed and evolve (genetic mutation) over time. Typically, artificial life simulators try to model how certain traits (such as cooperation) may have evolved in our own world. Some simulators are done in continuous time and others are trial based. Continuous time based simulators function just like our world does, creatures may breed and interact at any time. Trial based simulators typically run several trials on each creature and select the best fit creatures for breeding.
