What is an ASP and why shouldn i subscribe to one?
Instead of assigning ASP stands for “Application Service Provider” (not to be confused with “Active Server Pages”, which is a scripting solution created by Microsoft). ASPs specialize in producing web applications, much like Lampfire. Unlike Lampfire, however, they rent their applications to their clients. While they provide prefabricated solutions to common business needs, their ease of implementation comes at a price. Most ASPs charge a good deal of money for their service, which may or may not meet the needs of their clients. Often, a year of ASP fees is significantly more than the cost of having a web application tailor made for your organization. Additionally, should a client fail to make payment to an ASP, it is conceivable that they could loose access to their mission critical data.
