What is an e-print archive?

0

The RIT E-print archive is an internet-accessible database for the electronic submission, access, and preservation of peer-reviewed research material created by RIT faculty and researchers. E-print archives reassert an institution’s control over its own scholarship. By allowing faculty the ability to self-archive preprint and postprint peer-reviewed journal articles, an e-print archive has the potential to liberate research from access tolls, lift barriers, and participate in what potentially is the future model of scholarly publishing – a global disaggregated system of distributed, interoperable institutional archives of peer-reviewed research.
