What is an MSO file and how do I open it?
An MSO file is a Microsoft Office file. The EDMS uses file signatures (also known as “magic numbers”) to determine file type. All types of Microsoft Office files share the same file signature, and, as a result, different kinds of files will be assigned the MSO extension. If you download an MSO from the EDMS, use different Microsoft Office programs to try to open it. Right-click on the file and select “Open with” > “Choose Program”. It is best to start with MS Word, as the file will most likely be a Word document. Other types of files may display characters that are not meaningful to you when opened in word. If this occurs, try another program in the Office suite.
