What is an Originality Report?

0

An Originality Report is an online report that highlights content which matches text from other sources. Each source is numbered, and differentiated by colour. Whenever a paper is submitted an Originality Report is generated and appears in the Assignment’s Inbox. From the Inbox, the instructor can see the paper’s color-coded “overall similarity index”. Clicking on the Inbox icon displays both the Originality Report, and original document for any given paper.

An originality report provides information about your assignment including: • submission information • similarity index (percentage matches for text that matches other sources) • the original submission with the matching text highlighted The report will be available a few minutes after submission (unless you are using the overwrite feature, in which case it will take 24 hours) and appears as a coloured icon next to the assignment.
