What is Badware?
There are lots of names for it. Spyware, adware, trojan horses, or even viruses. But at the end of the day it’s “bad software” or “Badware” that you do NOT want on your computer. Primarily, the creators of Badware try to unsuspectingly install it on your computer so that it displays popups or other advertising so that they can sell this advertising space for huge profits. In other cases, the Badware is designed to use your internet connection to launch attacks or spam other computers. We are fully behind Google’s campaign at StopBadware.org to help educate and inform web surfers against the dangers of Badware and the websites that promote it.
